Day Four - Ţjórsárdalur Valley, Highlands, and Hekla.

Some people took a horse ride in the morning on Icleandic horses while the rest slept in. Then it was off to our first day four stop, the Ţjórsárdalur Valley.

Leaving the Ţjórsárdalur valley and Ţjóđveldisbćr, we traveled toward the bleak and desolate highlands. Stopping first at the very utilitarian Highland Center of Hrauneyjar for lunch (a traditional Icelandic Christmas dinner), we proceeded on to the highlands themselves.

Descending from the highlands, our four wheel drive bus negotiated some really rough roads. We stopped at an un-named waterfall and then moved on to the base of mount Hekla before returning to the hotel.
