What is Skepticism?

Webster's defines skepticism as "The method of suspended judgment, systematic doubt, or criticism".
Most people today that call themselves skeptics would probably say that it is the idea that anything
in life or the universe can and indeed must be subjected to critical thought and scientifically rigorous
investigation before it can even be considered to be close to the truth. It is a way of thinking about the
universe that allows, indeed requires, that every idea be subjected to the dual probes of science and reason.

The idea is simply that nothing is exempt from rigorous scientific inquiry, not science, not religion, nothing.
